Highlights: Colonia – Montevideo – Punta del Este

Day 1


Arrive in Colonia de Sacramento. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage site with your guide, making your way through the attractive cobbled-stone streets. Of particular note are the Calle de los Suspiros and Plaza Mayor.

Overnight in a local hotel.

Day 2

Colonia to Montevideo

You will be picked up at your hotel and on the way to Montevideo there will be stop for a spot of lunch either at one of Uruguay's family-owned vineyards or at a cheese-producing farm.

On arrival in Montevideo you will be driven to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3


Today's city tour will take in the highlights of the capital, which is home to over 35% of Uruguay's population. There is some superb art-deco architecture, particularly on the Avenida 18 de Julio. Explore the Old City on foot, an area which is home to antique shops and art galleries, old bars and cafes and some great restaurants before lunch at the Mercado del Puerto.

Free afternoon and evening.

Day 4

Montevideo - Punta del Este

The attractive coastline East of Montevideo is dotted with bays, beaches and promontories offering lovely views. We'll stop at Piriapolis, which became Uruguay's first beach resort in the 1890s before continuing via the Casapueblo museum and workshop in Punta Ballena created by Carlos Paez Vilaro to arrive at your hotel in Punta del Este.

Day 5

Punta del Este

Free day at leisure in the coastal city of Punta del Este. If you would like us to arrange any excursions or activities please let us know.
